Museum of Shadows

Conceptual architectural installation "MUSEUM OF SHADOWS". This project is partially a response to a world with an excess of lighting. An exploration of the creation of space and pattern using shadows and darkness. Recalling German expressionist films of the 1920's, Rothko's black on black series, or the black and white painting's of Kazimir Malevich. Various design elements bring natural light into space to create interactive "paintings/sculptures" which allow the viewer to move around and within the space to become part of the installation. Changes, in the time of day, the weather and the seasons create different levels of illumination and different patterns. It becomes safe to discover again the experience of darkness and the subtle nature of deep shadows.
